Avoiding holiday weight gain, amazing short documentaries, and a delicious recipe

December is an exciting month! Do you feel too that it always seems to go by so quickly? Shopping, Christmas parties, and of course lots of foods… Keeping your weight at least the same is not so easy. However, there are still things that you can easily do. Here’s some tips:

Eat more protein — this will help satisfy your hunger, so you’ll feel full for longer.

Do intermittent fasting — try to not eat for at least 14 hours every day, no food, no calorie drinks (only water and tea). It’s not so hard really, you’ll be sleeping to a good bit of it so just try finishing your evening eating a bit earlier and starting a bit later in the morning.

Eat foods that are high in water content — such as salads, cucumber, or parsley (without dressing).

Add more healthy fats to your diet — avocados, olive oil, grass-fed butter, macadamia nuts, hazelnuts, and coconut. Healthy fats will help decrease appetite, and they make your food delicious too.

And, most importantly if you eat too much or you didn’t stick to plan then don’t start to blame yourself. Stop, observe what happened, and learn what you need to do next time same in the same situation.

I also have a few quick links this week for you…

I recently watched two short documentaries on the National Geographic YouTube channel, maybe you’ll like them too. The first one is about Richard Overton, America's oldest veteran. He is 109 years young :) You can watch at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXyfCGDnuWs. And the second is about a project called “Breaking2”, an attempt to break 2 hours for running a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles. After six months of scientifically advanced training, three of the world’s most elite distance runners set out to break the two-hour marathon barrier.

Sounds pretty crazy! You can watch it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2ZLG-Fij_4.

And finally for this week. here’s bonus recipe: coconut pie without crust, gluten, wheat, dairy, soy, sugar and almost carb-free. BUT…… it tastes sooooo good!!! Here’s the video for that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY8ZqXywBcc

Enjoy your holidays!!!
