Did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

This is taken from the GrassrootsHealth Nutrient Research Institute’s most recent newsletter:

“We prefer to take the opportunity each October to focus on breast cancer prevention. To help educate the public on the effects of vitamin D and breast cancer prevention, we have created a series of posts focused on key research, with highlights from the first randomized controlled trial published on vitamin D and cancer, a second study that replicated those findings, and another using data from two cohorts to show a 71% reduction in the risk of cancer. Our last post featured a study published with data combined from the Lappe cohort and the GrassrootsHealth cohort, which indicated that having a level of at least 60 ng/ml of vitamin D may have additional benefits for risk reduction of breast cancer. Today we highlight one more study looking at vitamin D and breast cancer survival. While the earlier studies looked at how vitamin D was related to overall cancer rates in women, today's post will describe a study that indicates having a level of at least 60 ng/ml of vitamin D may have additional benefits, specifically for breast cancer risk reduction.’

They have a great website (https://www.grassrootshealth.net/) with many studies showing how Vitamin D levels can effect on your health, increase the survival rate for cancer patients, and even help to totally prevent cancer.

Here’s a related article of mine about vitamin D levels: An extraordinary vitamin that’s even not exactly a vitamin!

As I say in that article, don’t think that just because you are living in a sunny place that you are getting enough! There are so many other barriers that can prevent you from getting sufficient vitamin D, so do make sure that you check your levels to see if you are deficient or not. It is so simple to learn, and can be life saving!
